Repairs & Renovations
We have decades of experience in repair and renovation work to existing headstones or memorials. Our masons have repaired memorials on behalf of individual families, as well as carrying out large-scale work for local authorities. We can help you with things like cleaning, re-gilding or re-carving letters, re-fixing unstable or unsafe headstones, fixing or replacing broken headstones and foundations, and more.
We can also add additional inscriptions onto existing memorials, even if it wasn’t originally installed by us. We can match the font and colour to the original design on the headstone.
A number of councils and cemetery and graveyard authorities in the area, including Newcastle City Council, have been carrying out headstone safety checks. South Tyneside Council has started safety checks in June 2024 too. Councils often mark headstones that have failed a safety with a yellow warning sign. If your headstone has failed a safety check, we can help fix and re-install it to the highest standards.
